Taking Back the Courts 101

You could say that court was in session on Wednesday night, September 11, at the Chatham County Democratic Party Community Engagement Center. And there was pizza too!

All four Democratic candidates for state-wide judicial seats, plus NC Democratic Party Chair, Anderson Clayton, were on a Zoom call entitled Taking Back the Courts 101 - A Crash Course for Volunteers and Voters. Participating in the call were NC Supreme Court Justice Allison Riggs, Judge Carolyn Thompson, Ed Eldred, and Martin Moore.

As a special in-person guest speaker, we had Judge Sherri Murrell, District Court Judge for District 15B (Chatham and Orange Counties). For nearly an hour prior to the start of the Zoom call, Judge Murrell explained the court system here in Chatham County. She generously answered questions on a range of topics about the judicial system.
