In the United States, we don’t put up with would-be kings. NO KINGS was a national day of action and mass mobilization in response to increasing authoritarian excesses and corruption from President Trump and his allies. We’ve watched as they’ve cracked down on free speech, detained people for their political views, threatened to deport American citizens, and defied the courts. They’ve done this all while continuing to serve and enrich their billionaire allies.
On June 14, Indivisible Chatham with assistance by the Chatham County Democratic Party organized a NO KINGS event in Pittsboro, NC. An estimated 1,200 people rallied and listened to speeches by Chatham Democratic Party Chair Sue Blalock, Alirio Estevez, State Representative and Democratic Leader Robert Reives, NC Democratic Party Chair Anderson Clayton, and others.
Nearly 2,000 protest rallies were held across the United States on June 14.
