Sunday of Action
A few months ago, Republican members of the Chatham County and North Carolina Boards of Elections denied voters in Chatham County the opportunity to vote on Sunday afternoons. So on the afternoon of Sunday, October 25, Democratic volunteers fanned out across the county to make sure that Democratic voters are ready to cast their ballots during the rest of early voting or on Election Day.
Volunteers heard instructions and words of appreciation and encouragement from Chatham Democratic Party Chair Sue Blalock and incumbent candidates for County Commissioner Katie Kenlan and Franklin Gomez Flores.
The Sunday of Action launched from two locations: (1) the Chatham Ag Center in Pittsboro and (2) the outdoor pavilion at Carolina Preserve.
Below are photographs from the Ag Center that capture the determination and the joy of volunteers heading out with their assignments for getting out the vote in this important election.
