For two hours on the evening of August 5, citizens of Chatham County had the opportunity to express their opinions to the Chatham County Board of Commissioners about the possible methane gas line that might be installed in western and southern Chatham County.
Of the estimated 300 citizens in attendance, 50 people spoke in unanimous objection to the proposed project by the Canadian company, Enbridge, that would carry fracked gas to Moncure.
Senator Natalie Murdock and congressional candidate Richard Ojeda were both in attendance and Ojeda was one of the speakers.
The public forum was held at the Chatham County Agricultural Center.
