Honoring John Lewis

On a steamy summer evening, the Historic Courthouse in Pittsboro, NC was the site of a candlelight vigil in memory of Congressman John Lewis and his call to “Get into good trouble, necessary trouble, to help redeem the soul of America.” Sponsored by Indivisible Chatham, the event took place on the evening of July 17, 2025.

Great singers need a bit of a warmup before a performance. In this case it was a group led by Cynthia Crossen who rehearsed at the nearby Chatham Democratic Party Community Engagement Center before leading the vigil attendees in song.
