Keeping it local was on the agenda for recent Democratic precinct meetings in Moncure and Goldston in Chatham County, NC, where candidates running for office in races from the Chatham County Board of Education to Congress in Washington, had the opportunity to speak with small but civically engaged groups of voters.

With the start of early voting on October 15, candidates are impossibly busy with many requests for their time. This is especially true for those who are running statewide or in multi-county districts.

Here’s a list of candidates who came to one or both of the precinct meetings.

US House of Representatives

District 09-Richard Ojeda

District Court Judge

District 15 B- Judge Todd Roper

Chatham County Commissioner

District 3-Commissioner Michael R. (Mike) Roberson

District 4-Commissioner Katie Kenlan

District 5-Commissioner Franklin Gomez Flores

Chatham County Sheriff

Sheriff Steve Maynor

Chatham County Board of Education

District 3-Sarah D’Amato

Standing in for Richard Ojeda in Goldston was campaign staffer, Amy Dora. Filling in for Representative Robert Reives was Cynthia Reives in Goldston and Jan Cashion Tart in Moncure.
