Pittsboro, NC

June 14, 2026

While there were multiple messages in the hearts and on the signs of the approximately 75 people who gathered at the Historic Courthouse in downtown Pittsboro, the overriding theme was Flag Day.

The flags were large and small. Some were on small poles and sticks, and some were held and waved by hand. Some were even upside down, a symbol of distress.

There were a few dissenters, but the vast majority of passing motorists expressed their support with waves and honking horns.

The event was sponsored by Indivisible Chatham.
