Judge Jefferson Griffin filed protests about more than 60,000 ballots in the 2024 race against Justice Allison Riggs for a seat on the NC Supreme Court. The names and counties of the 60,000+ voters being challenged were released to the public, and those voters were notified by a postcard from the Griffin campaign.

He is contending that the voters who cast these ballots were not entitled to vote because their voter registration form does not contain their driver’s license number or the last four digits of their social security number-even if they presented their driver’s license to an election worker to verify their identity when they voted.
