Board of Elections Meetings
The Chatham County Board of Elections meets monthly, usually on the third Tuesday of the month. These meetings are open to the public and we encourage interested Democrats to attend. The next meetings will be on August 19th at 5:30pm. It will be held at 984 Thompson Street, Suite D, Pittsboro. If you cannot make it in person, the meeting can be viewed online at https://meet.goto.com/579999781.
North Carolina Democratic Party (NCDP) Press Conference
The NCDP will be holding a press conference today (8/19) at 1pm in downtown Raleigh with Senate Minority Leader Sydney Batch, NCDP Chair Anderson Clayton, and CWA Local 3611 Vice Presdient Kelvin Little to highlight Michael Whatley's agenda of raising costs on working families to give tax handouts to billionaires. Spotlight On Chatham: A Zoom Series
Chatham County Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources Tuesday, August 19th @ 7pm on Zoom

New to Chatham County and want to know what public services are available? Been here for a while and want to understand more about who runs county government? Interested in public schools, water quality, broadband, public safety, elections, public health, agriculture, or taxes?
Community leaders on these and similar topics will discuss them in a series of Zoom talks sponsored by the Chatham County Democratic Party. All Chatham residents are welcome to join the Zooms and learn more about this exceptional county.

SPEAK OUT NOW peaceful protests continue! We will gather on the first and third Saturdays of each month to protest the cruelty of the ice raids and all of the unconstitutional and corrupt practices of this administration.

Technology Training for Older Adults

RHRNP (Right Here, Right Now Project) is partnering with Senior Planet to help older adults use technology to learn new skills. These classes are intended for adults 60 and over. If we do not have a full class we will accept anyone under 60. Join us for FREE in-person lectures. Class sizes (10 people) are kept low to ensure appropriate support for each learner. Mindfulness Apps - Thursday, 8/21, 12:30-1:15
Mindfulness is the ability to be fully present and aware. You can practice mindfulness through simple activities. This lecture introduces mindfulness and its physical and mental benefits, such as reducing anxiety, improving memory, and lowering blood pressure. You'll learn about popular apps that teach breathing and meditation techniques, as well as new technology like wearable breath monitors and smart yoga mats.
We will announce more lectures and workshops in the coming weeks.
