Greetings Chatham Dems,
A huge shout-out to all the Chatham Dems who contributed to the School Supply and Book drive. We distributed the items donated to 161 students in Pittsboro and 119 students in Siler City. Be sure to click on the links so you can see all the smiling faces! Thanks to everyone for helping these students get off to a good start this school year.

Board of Elections Meetings
The Chatham County Board of Elections meets monthly, usually on the third Tuesday of the month. These meetings are open to the public and we encourage interested Democrats to attend. The next meeting will be on August 19th at 5:30 p.m. It will be held at 984 Thompson Street, Suite D, Pittsboro. If you cannot make it in person, the meeting can be viewed online at https://meet.goto.com/579999781.
Other highlights of the week:
If you missed Congresswoman Valerie Foushee's Medicaid and Medicare Lunch and Learn Webinar last week, you can watch it by clicking here. As discussed during the webinar, she is continuing to advocate against proposed funding cuts to Medicaid, Medicare, and food assistance programs like SNAP that help ensure families have access to nutritious meals.
Total Victory: Education Funding Restored. Last month the Department of Education froze $165 in funding for North Carolina schools. But, Attorney General Jeff Jackson fought back and won!! Learn about it straight from AG Jackson by clicking here.
Wondering what else is going on? One of our super volunteers, Alan Buis, to the rescue! He has distilled the top local, state, and national/international stories of the week for you. Check them out in News You Can Use.
