Cheri Beasley visits Chatham County on Primary Election Day

Dozens of Chatham County residents were on hand to meet former N.C. Chief Justice Cheri Beasley during a stop at the West Williams Precinct polling place in Fearrington. After addressing the crowd for a few minutes, she then spoke one-on-one with individuals, posed for pictures, and did media interviews. Following her service as North Carolina's first African American Chief Justice of the N.C. Supreme Court, Chatham County Democrats look forward to helping Cheri make more North Carolina history in her campaign to be our next United States Senator!

Senator Natalie Murdock launches Chatham Campaign in Siler City

Senator Natalie Murdock chose the Siler City Arts Incubator location to kick off her Chatham County NC Senate campaign! The event was on Tuesday, April 19 at 4PM. She was joined by Representative Robert Reives and Sheriff Mike Roberson.

Westfall Community Sunday Sundae

On Sunday, April 3, 2022, Democrats in the Westfall community hosted a meet-n-greet for Senator Natalie Murdock, Sheriff Mike Roberson, District Court Judge Todd Roper, and many of the candidates running for Chatham County Commissioner in the upcoming primary.

Post Convention Party

Following the county convention on Saturday, March 19, Chatham County Democrats held a post convention “mocktail” party that featured many district and county candidates in the 2022 election. Most notable were NC House Representative Robert Reives and NC Senator Ben Clark. Senator Clark has thrown his hat in the ring for the 9th Congressional District of the US Congress.

NC Senator Murdock comes to Chatham County

On March 4, 2022, NC Senate Candidate Natalie Murdock took some time on a cool and sunny afternoon to meet and chat with Chatham County Democrats at The Belted Goat in Fearrington Village.

Senator Murdock has connections and friends all over Chatham County and is already making plans for meet and greet events around the county. She currently serves as the senator for the current NC Senate District 20, consisting of Durham County. The newly drawn NC Senate District 20 includes a portion of Durham County and all of Chatham County. Look for an opportunity coming soon to meet with Senator Murdock!

North Williams Precinct Volunteer Recruitment Canvass

On February 20, 2022, the North Williams Precinct Committee fanned out across the precinct to visit Democrats who might be interested in volunteering for future canvassing efforts prior to the election in 2022.

West Chatham NAACP School Supplies Drive

The West Williams and East and West Siler City Precincts of the Chatham County Democratic Party joined with the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office to participate in the West Chatham NAACP school supplies drive.

The groups met in Siler City on Saturday, January 15, 2022 to combine enough donated supplies to fill an SUV. They were delivered to the Chatham school system.

Candidate Filing-December 2021

The original calendar for candidate filing had to be abandoned as several groups sued legislators over district maps that were drawn based on the 2020 Census. This created a narrow window of time for candidates to file in December of 2021, as originally scheduled. Candidate filing will resume on February 24 and end on March 4.

Pittsboro Christmas Parade-2021

A number of Democratic elected officials and candidates for county, and district races were on hand to greet thousands of Pittsboro area citizens for this annual festive event.
