JS Waters Elementary (continued)

Our collective conscience and compassion evolve through the knowledge of past inhumanity. Learning the facts of our country’s tortured history is key. Listening with compassion to the long-term impact is crucial. Adults must know better if we want our children to do better.

Members of the Chatham County Democratic Party fully support the requests made by Chatham Organizing for Racial Equality (CORE) to admonish the actions that occurred at J.S. Waters Elementary School and engage in a community dialogue for racial reconciliation. We applaud the unanimous decision made by our Chatham County Board of Education to enforce and enhance the existing policies related to racism in our schools. Most importantly, Chatham County Democrats will continue to promote representatives throughout our community and our government who have demonstrated their understanding of, and their fight against, systemic racism in our society.
